Queridos amigos, apreciadores da cultura oitentista. Estamos dando sequência à nossa viagem pelos anos 80, desta vez abordaremos o ano de 1982.

Procuramos incluir nestas breves linhas, um pouco do que aconteceu no decorrer de 1982, sobre as bandas que surgiram, bandas que se desfizeram, fatos relevantes ligados à música, top 100 da billboard, etc...

Como há muita informação, procuramos resumir os dados, desta forma abordaremos parte do que aconteceu durante 1982; muita coisa não foi incluída, porém vocês poderão conferir em breve uma abordagem no melhor estilo ‘documentário’ que será apresentada no Programa Autobahn da TVOrkut, aguardem.

1982 - Fatos Relevantes

• Em janeiro Vince Clarke cria o Yazoo, depois de ter criado o Depeche Mode e compor todas suas músicas, Vince sai do Depeche e cria uma das bandas mais saudosas dos anos 80 ao lado da cantora de soul Alison Moyet, se tornando um ícone daquele ano.

• 20 de janeiro - Ozzy Osbourne mordeu a cabeça de um morcego que foi atirado ao palco durante uma apresentação.

• 21 de janeiro – B.B. King doa sua coleção particular de discos, que incluía aproximadamente 7,000 discos raros de blues para a Universidade do Mississipi, a coleção serviu para um estudo sobre a cultura sulista.

• 16 de fevereiro - A banda synthpop Thompson Twins lança o álbum Set que marca definitivamente o crescimento do synthpop inglês.

• 4 de março – o filho de Frank Zappa Dweezil e sua irmã Moon formam a banda Fred Zeppelin;

• Em 07 de março é lançado o single I Ran, terceiro single do A Flock of Seagulls, atingindo o topo da parada em vários países, que levou a banda ao estrelato mundial, levando o Synthpop/New Romantic a Austrália e Brasil, entre outros países.

• 28 de março – Thomas Dolby lança The Golden Age of Wireless, trazendo sucessos como "She Blinded me with Science", "Airwaves", "One of Our Submarines" que se tornariam clássicos indispensáveis da década de 80!

• 29 de março – Stevie Wonder e Paul McCartney lançam seu single "Ebony and Ivory", que permaneceria em 1º lugar durante 7 semanas.

• 15 de abril - Billy Joel sofre um sério acidente de moto Long Island, New York. Joel passou mais de um mês no hospital fazendo fisioterapia para recuperar os movimentos da mão.

• 26 de abril – Rod Stewart é assaltado em Los Angeles, California. Stewart perdeu seu Porsche de US$ 50.000,00, mas não foi ferido.

• 06 de Julho – O Yazoo lança seu primeiro single, Don’t Go, logo depois lançando o álbum Upstairs at Eric’s, que se tornou uma das referências dos anos 80!

• Em agosto o Duran Duran lança o single Save a Prayer, que mudaria de vez a história do New Romantic no mundo, chegando a sair em single até no Brasil, que não tinha muitos singles internacionais.

• 7 de setembro – O musical Cats inicia sua apresentação que durou 18 anos na Broadway

• Em novembro, o A Flock of Seagulls, estoura de sucesso também na Inglaterra com o single Wishing (If I a Had a Photograph of You)

• 1 de dezembro - Thriller é gravado pelo superstar Michael Jackson, o album se tornaria o maior sucesso em vendagem mundial com 104 milhões de cópias vendidas.

• 3 de dezembro - é lançado "Under Attack", o single de despedida do Abba.

• Madonna assina contrato com a Warner e com a Sire Records.

• Janet Jackson lança seu primeiro álbum;

• Ronnie James Dio deixa o Black Sabbath para iniciar carreira solo.
